Actor Dhananjaya fondly recalls his time spent in Mangaluru, where he worked as a tech professional at a prestigious IT firm in Kottara for six months. This experience enabled him to delve into the vibrant art and culture of the coastal area. Hence, upon receiving an invitation to attend the Dasara festivities in Kudla recently, he gladly accepted without hesitation. He mentions that he had often heard about the Navratri celebrations and returning to the place brought back nostalgic memories, offering a fresh perspective.
During his leisure time in Mangaluru, Dhananjaya immersed himself in watching various Tulu dramas and Yakshagana performances. Despite only grasping a bit of the Tulu language during his stay, he found great pleasure in the dramas. He believes that art transcends language, emphasizing the significance of connection. This experience left a profound impact on him, highlighting the value of cultural immersion.
Dhananjaya also appreciates the effort made by the coastal region to preserve its traditional art forms. He admires how the language, art, and culture of Karavali have been upheld by its people. His visit allowed him to witness the captivating tiger dance and even partake in a performance on stage, despite not considering himself a skilled dancer. Reflecting on his portrayal of Huli Vesha in the movie "Kotee," he acknowledges the importance of preserving art and culture as they are crucial elements that sustain us.
